Psychological Services

What APS can offer:

APS provides services to adults and young people who experience a wide range of difficulties.

As a Clinical Psychologist Sarah’s training has provided her with a breadth and depth of knowledge in a range of different therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focussed Therapy, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy.  She favours an integrative style of therapy and will work collaboratively with you to devise an individual treatment plan to suit your goals, presenting difficulties and time frame. Therefore prior to therapy commencing you will be required to attend an initial face-to-face appointment.  This session will provide an opportunity to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and to think about what you would like to achieve through therapy.  As it is important to adapt to an individuals need, therapy will be reviewed regularly to help guide the treatment plan developed.

Sarah believes in the primary importance of developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. Therefore her therapeutic style is compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental.  She fosters an open and honest approach and endeavours to provide a safe space for you to begin working towards your goal.

It is important you feel comfortable with, and confident in your therapist therefore you are welcome to have an initial telephone conversation with Sarah to discuss how you could work together. Therefore if you would like to discuss things further then please feel free to ring her for a non-obligatory discussion.
